Ryan International School : Icpfa 2016

Ryan international School: Mumbai International Children's Festival of Performing Arts. I

It was my pleasure to attend this wonderful event where Diversity is celebrated.

The 14th edition of the International Children's Festival of Performing Art created an amalgamation of cultures and value through our young cultural ambassadors from across the globe in Mumbai. This edition of the festival was designed on the theme "Celebrating Diversity" had over 10,000 children from Bangladesh, czech, Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, India, Iran, Latvia, Morocco, Nepal, Russia, Slovenia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Zambia thrilling the world with their internationally acclaimed power packed performances through dance, music, puppetry and the most elemental art forms, spontaneously expressing the entire gamut of human emotions and experiences. It is due to the performance Par Excellence of Children that has made it one of India's most admirable Performing Arts Festivals over the years.

3 Unique Interactive Events

Opening Parade: A theatrical parade wad carried out with all national and international participants to spread the message of Peace and Harmony. These young global ambassadors carried forward the mission of creating a world without Violence, hatred and War. Spreading the light, singing together, shouting the slogans for a Peaceful World

World village: (Theme - Traditonal games and art forms of the world) Enjoy the stalls set – up by all National & International Teams, who sold souvenirs and artifacts from their states and countries. One of the most important objectives of the festival is to get the children of the world united. They exchanged their own ideas and interact with each other during the festival. To get them closer and unify, we had planned the WORLD VILLAGE.

White T Shirt Ceremony: Carried back a festival memento with universal impressions. All participants got together at one point, wearing plain white T-shirt and carrying colored sketch pens. They were then asked to write peace messages on each other's T-shirts, mentioning the name of their countries. Each participant had aleast 10 messages for 10 different countries.

The festival is not limited to viewing performances; here the focus is interaction, improvisation, play and discussion among the participants. We believe that children have immense enery and improvisation helps to tap this energy and make them more confident to express their desire and face the challenges of the world. Over the last 14 years the festival has spread its wings far and wide, thus becoming the most awaited event not only for Indian students but for the international artists joining in years after years.
